Frequently
Asked Questions About Digital Printing

Q: How long does a print last before it starts fading?
A: The answer to this question depends on several factors. It depends
on the exposure to sunlight, the media used and the inks used. Prints
will have more than one year of indoor lightfastness when using standard
dye-based inks and photo imaging gloss media. In direct sunlight this
same print will last about three months. If you need extended lightfastness,
print with the UV inks. The lightfastness is 5 years indoors and 2 years
outdoors when using UV inks and 3M laminates called the "3M
Match Component System."
Q: Does my poster need to be laminated?
A: If it is something that will be handled frequently or needs to be
durable, it should be laminated. However, if it is something more disposable
lamination isn't necessary.
Q: What type of files can you print in large-format?
A: We prefer an .eps with fonts converted to curves, or a .tiff no less
than 100dpi at full size.
